MANCHESTER UNITED and Liverpool appear destined to miss out on Robert Lewandowski, according to reports.
The Poland international has been in irresistible form for Bayern Munich this term, rattling home 26 goals in all competitions.
United have been hot on Lewandowski's heels, with Louis van Gaal revealing his desire to add a proven striker to his ranks.
Liverpool meanwhile have been keeping tabs, with Jurgen Klopp keen to reunite with the player whom he worked with at Borussia Dortmund.
But The Sun claim Real are currently the frontrunners for his signature.
The report suggests the La Liga giants are preparing a £75million bid and has a no get-out clause that Real could trigger.
This is despite Bayern's sporting director Matthias Sammer slamming the rumours over the weekend.
He said: "There are always new rumours. I don’t know where they come from.
“We don’t blame Robert, it is not his fault. That is all complete nonsense.”
