Leicester make a move for AC Milan outcast Nigel De Jong

The Foxes have set their sights on the Netherlands international as a potential replacement for out-of-favour midfielder Gokhan Inler.
The Switzerland captain is expected to leave the King Power in January after making just five Premier League outings since his summer arrival.

And according to the Daily Mirror, Claudio Ranieri has prepared for his exit by submitting a £2million bid for De Jong, with a further £1m in the deal should Leicester qualify for the Champions League.
The former Manchester City star has been linked with a return to the Premier League since compatriot Louis van Gaal took charge at Manchester United in 2014.

Van Gaal is thought to be an admirer of De Jong, having worked with the combative midfielder in the Dutch national side for two years.
But the Foxes are hoping to wrap up a deal for the Milan outcast, who has started just five Serie A outings this term, before the January window shuts.
