Liverpool are believed to be in pole position to sign Leicester striker Jamie Vardy. 
The  claim the Reds are willing to offer £25million to sign the 29-year-old hotshot in the summer. 
Vardy has been in scintillating form for the high-flying Foxes this season and has set a new Premier League record of scoring in 11 consecutive games earlier this season. 
Boss Claudio Ranieri is determined to keep hold of the England international and in order to do so will they will reportedly offer him a new deal worth double his current £45,000-a-week contract.

The Hammers are in desperate need of strikers after the injury-prone Andy Carroll joined re-joined the list of casualties this week - which include Manuel Lanzini and Diafra Sakho. 
And the striker crisis could worsen come the end of the January window with Nikica Jelavic linked with a move to China, leaving Slaven Bilic with just one fit striker in Enner Valencia. 
But according to the Brentwood Gazette, Bilic will make a permanent move for Balotelli in an attempt to bolster his ranks and ease his goalscoring woes. 
 
Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer admits Liverpool target Mario Gotze may not sign a new deal at Bayern Munich. 
The 23-year-old midfielder has been heavily linked with a , having played under him at Borussia Dortmund. 
Gotze has struggled to secure regular first-team football under Pep Guardiola - but with his contract not due to expire until the summer of 2017 - Sammer insists Bayern are in 'no rush' to open contract talks. 
"We all know how the situation is and how long his contract is still running and we know when there are certain key moments," Sammer said. 

"But we are the ones who are in charge - we are in no rush and will work on this at our leisure."
