Liverpool striker deal blocked despite manager's hopes for transfer

LIVERPOOL have blocked Jerome Sinclair's move to Watford, according to reports.

The 19-year-old has been linked with a move to Vicarage Road, following claims he's tired of being on the fringes at Anfield.

The teenager reportedly refused to play in an U21 fixture today against Reading for fear of an injury jeopardising a potential january exit.

 

And Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores admitted this week he was hopeful of signing the former West Brom youth player.

“Sinclair is the kind of player I like for Watford - he has the qualities that we need and the skill and conditions to come here." he said.

 

However, according to The Mirror, the Reds look set to block any transfer, despite it potentially putting them out of pocket.

Sinclair is out of contract at the end of the season and could leave for nothing over the summer with La Liga club Espanyol also showing interest.
