DANIEL STURRIDGE has been ruled out of Liverpool’s next two matches and Jurgen Klopp admits he is unsure when the striker will return to action.

Klopp is still unsure when Daniel Sturridge will finally make his Liverpool return

The fitness of the England forward continues to stir debate on Merseyside with Sturridge having played only 106 minutes for Klopp since the German’s arrival in October.
Sturridge has not featured since damaging his hamstring in the defeat to Newcastle on December 6 and will not feature against West Ham in the FA Cup tomorrow or next Tuesday’s Premier League game with Leicester City.
Since he moved to Anfield three years ago he has been unavailable for 54.8per cent of his time at the club which equates to 615 days missed out of 1,122 spent at Liverpool.

Klopp delivered his weekly bulletin on Sturridge’s recovery at his press conference at Melwood today and admitted the 26-year-old is still not training consistently.
“He is still working,” said Klopp. “Sometimes it is better, sometimes it is a bit worse because of other issues. That is all. He has done a lot of sessions in the last few weeks but it is always interrupted with a few breaks.
“He needs consistency in the sessions and that’s what we try to do.  That is all.

“His injury history means this is normal. It is not coincidence. Some things are not right if you are injured that often. We have to be really sensitive with all the information we get. That is what we try to do.
“We’re trying to find a point from which we can train and build up fitness. He could do a lot of sessions in the last few weeks but, like I said, they have always been interrupted with a few different issues where we always have to see and wait on what happens. That is how it is.
“Everyone in this room knows Daniel much better than myself. I saw him playing, a few times in training but there is no doubt about his quality. That is not the thing. I am not here to think about how a player is in the future.

“We have to work in this moment and together with Daniel on his fitness. That is all. There is no doubt that he is a very, very good player, but at this moment he is not available so we don’t have to talk too much about him. He is not here.
“He cannot play tomorrow, for sure not against Leicester and I don’t know what happens after Leicester to be honest.”
Dejan Lovren will return from injury against West Ham when Klopp will select another “young” side to ease the fixture congestion his players have endured.
