LIVERPOOL and Arsenal look set to go head-to-head in the battle to sign Athletic Bilbao forward Inaki Williams, according to reports.
Williams is officially the fastest player in La Liga after being clocked at 22.2 miles per hour during Atletico's 1-1 draw with Deportivo in May.
He is a Spain Under-21 international and has a £15.3million release clause in his contract.
And the Daily Mail claim both the Gunners and the Reds are mulling over a January swoop for the youngster.
Arsene Wenger sent scouts to watch Williams against Villarreal on Wednesday as he scored in a 1-0 away win in the Copa del Rey.
Jurgen Klopp is reportedly also a big fan of the forward and has been keeping a close eye on the Bilbao-born 21-year-old.
Bilbao do not want to sell their star player and want to offer him a new deal which will raise his release clause to £76.3m.
Tottenham have also been linked with the Spaniard, as Mauricio Pochettino searches for a back-up striker for Harry Kane.
Williams has six goals in 14 La Liga appearances so far this season.
