The 25-year-old Belgian international striker, who signed for the Reds for £32million from Aston Villa in the summer, has failed to live up to his price tag so far.
Benteke failed to convert several clear-cut chances in Liverpool's 3-0 win over League Two outfit Exeter in the FA Cup third round replay last night – which just about summed up his situation under new boss Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp recently described Benteke as a , but Nevin reckons offloading the striker would allow Klopp to recruit players that suit his style of play.
"It seems quite clear Benteke is being used as an impact player," Nevin told BBC Radio 5 Live

"Benteke's not really a Klopp-style player, it may well be that Klopp will go and get a big dollop of money for him and then go and spend it on the players he feels suit."
Benteke is the only recognised striker Klopp has at his disposal with Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi and Danny Ings all sidelined with injury.
Benteke has made 26 appearances in all competitions this season for Liverpool and has scored seven goals.
