JURGEN KLOPP has advised his Liverpool scouts to find him a world-class striker ahead of the summer transfer window, according to reports.
The Reds are said to not have the budget to buy a forward in the £50million-plus bracket but will begin their search for a hidden gem next month.
But the Football Insider claim that Liverpool's global scouting network will target strikers who can slot straight into the first team and have the potential to improve.
Liverpool have been hit hard by an injury crisis which currently sees 12 players sidelined.
And the frontline has been hit hardest with Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi and Danny Ings all out leaving Klopp with one recognised striker in Christian Benteke.
Benteke signed for Liverpool in a £32.5million summer deal from Aston Villa but the Belgian frontman has failed to live up to his price-tag so far.
Doubts remain over Benteke's future role in the team as it is believed coaching staff are concerned about whether he has the mobility to suit the team's playing style.
Benteke has made 17 appearances for Liverpool and has scored seven goals.
