IS THIS the hint from Jurgen Klopp that Liverpool have been priced out of a move for Alex Teixeira?
Liverpool have moved to hijack Chelsea's interest in the Brazilian star after suffering a forward injury crisis.
News News Blog Sport understands Reds chief executive Ian Ayre held face to face talks with Shakhtar Donetsk officials in Florida on Wednesday and tabled a £24million offer for Teixeira.
However, the Ukraine club are seeking a pricy £38m for their star man and their billionaire owner is under no obligation to sell.

And when discussing a move for Teixeira this morning, Klopp seemed to admit the 26-year-old might just prove too expensive.
"The January window is not the best and if you are under pressure then everyone wants prices where you think 'Are they crazy?," he said.
Klopp initially refused to discuss Liverpool's move for Teixeira, insisting: "I have nothing to say about this.
"We could talk about a lot of players in the world and I could, if we had time for this, talk about the qualities they have."

But the German coach admitted ongoing injury problems with his strikers have forced the club into action.
Daniel Sturridge, Danny Ings and Divock Origi are all currently injured and while Christian Benteke is fit he is out of form.
Chelsea are also interested in Teixeira, but baulked at Shakhtar's £38m valuation which appears to have had a similar effect on Klopp.
"The whole situation changed obviously," he added. "I think I always said if our situation changed then we had to change our opinion.

"If you take a new player now we have two days to the next game, four days to the next so it is not a perfect moment.
"We have to watch the market, to think about what makes sense for us now plus for the summer.
"If we find a solution which fits for both transfer windows, winter and summer, and a player could help us as quickly as possible then of course we would try.
"I have always said we will watch the market and we will see if something happens, there are a few days to go."
