Former Valenica boss emerges as shock candidate to replace Louis van Gaal at Man United
Nuno Espírito Santo is reportedly on Manchester United's list of bosses to replace Louis van Gaal

The Dutchman has been heavily criticised for the brand of football displayed at Old Trafford, as well as a terrible run of results which saw United fail to win in eight matches in November and December.
The Red Devils have failed to score by half-time in their last 10 home matches and have only managed to win one of their last eight Premier League games.

They were spared a humiliating 0-0 draw at home to Sheffield United in the third-round of the FA Cup last weekend.
Wayne Rooney's stoppage time penalty sent United through to the fourth round round with a lucky 1-0 win.

report that Nuno, who was replaced by United legend Gary Neville as Valencia boss in December, is in contention to replace Van Gaal, if the Old Trafford hierarchy lose patience with their current boss.
Nuno, 41, was appointed Valencia boss at the start of the 2014-15 season but he resigned last November with the club lost in mid-table in La Liga.

The Portugese has limited managerial experience but he was brought to Valencia's attention for his achievements with Rio Ave in Portugal - the former Porto goalkeeper's first job in management.
He was announced as the club's new boss in May 2012 and in the 2013-14 season, he guided them to both the Portugese Cup and League Cup finals, which meant they qualified for the Europa League for the first time in their history.
