BARCELONA have made Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey and Everton’s John Stones two big targets following the lifting of the club’s transfer ban.
Barcelona, who were prevented by FIFA from making signings in two transfer windows after being found guilty of irregularities, are determined to come back with a bang.
Boss Luis Enrique is a big fan of Ramsey – and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is well aware of it. The Catalan club are preparing a huge bid in the summer of around £50 million to try and tempt Arsenal and will also join the clubs circling Everton’s England star Stones.
Again Barcelona wouldn’t be afraid to launch a similar sized bid for 21-year-old Stones. Both players couldn’t help but be tempted by moves to one of Europe’s glamour clubs, which will leave Arsenal and Everton with a fight to hold on to their brightest stars.
Barcelona’s wooing of Stones started earlier in the season when Barca star Gerard Pique named the Everton player in his world team of the year. Now they are poised to make the move to install Stones alongside Pique while also finding a role for Ramsey.
