MANCHESTER UNITED have recalled Will Keane from his loan deal at Preston, according to Deepdale manager Simon Grayson.

Manchester United have cut short Will Keane's loan deal at Preston

Keane joined the Championship outfit on a season-long loan in the summer, scoring two goals in 22 outings but the 22-year-old will now return to Old Trafford.
United have found goals hard to come by this season, having found the back of the net just 22 times in 19 games - the lowest in the top six of the table.

And Grayson says Louis van Gaal has now brought the former England Under-21 international back in a bid to strengthen the Red Devils' strike force.
"[It happened] in the last 24 hours or so. United felt they needed an extra body around them," Grayson told Sky Sports.

"Obviously it's disappointing to lose Will. In the last few weeks he's been finding his feet with us. But that is what happens when you get loan players.
"We accept it. We will probably go into the market over the next few days and weeks to bring in reinforcements. Hopefully he will do well for Manchester United."
