Chief scout confirms Chelsea interest in Dutch hotshot

CHELSEA'S chief scout Piet de Visser has revealed the club are interested in 17-year-old defender Rick van Drongelen.

 

Rick van Drongelen is highly thought of in Holland

 

The Sparta Rotterdam teenager is regarded as one of top prospects in the Netherlands.

Van Drongelen is regular for Holland's under-19 side and in December he made his first-team debut for Sparta.

 

And De Visser told Dutch media that he has complied a report on the youngster.

He told Omroep Zeeland: "I have filed a report about Van Drongelen to Chelsea. 

 

"I think he's a serious guy who always trains extra hard and shows good mentality. 

"First, he must focus on his spot at Sparta and the Holland under 19s. There he is doing a good job."
