Saints open to Pelle sale
Chelsea are reportedly in the running to sign Southampton ace Graziano Pelle and want him to cover their striker void for the rest of the season, according to reports.
It has emerged that Saints are looking to offload Italian Pelle if a club match their valuation of the 30-year-old.
Saints boos Ronald Koeman signed Charlie Austin from QPR in a £4million swoop on Saturday.
And the Daily Star claim Austin's arrival opens the door for Pelle to depart.
It is claimed Chelsea are thinking of making a move for the striker while interim manager Guus Hiddink seeks to offload both Radamel Falcao and Loic Remy.
Loanee Falcao is currently out injured and does not appear to have much of a future in the Blues first team, while Remy has reportedly attracted interest in his signature from China.
As for Pelle, Koeman admitted he may struggle to retain the frontman.
"The situation of Graziano is a little bit different than other players because Graziano will be 31 and 32 at the end of next year and that's difficult," he said.
"It's too early to conclude about his future. I know it's left one season on the contract but it's too early now to talk about his future."
Arsenal in battle for Xhaka
Chelsea are set to hijack Arsenal's reported attempts to sign Borussia Monchengladbach's £37.6m midfielder Granit Xhaka, claim German newspaper Bild and Metro.
Swiss star Xhaka, 23, boasts 26 appearances for club and country this season, picking up nine yellow and three reds already.
Metro claim the former Basel ace has been on Arsenal's radar for some time, with Arsene Wenger keen to secure his services before a Premier League rival swoops in.
Wenger has already signed Egypt international Mohamed Elneny from Basel on a £5m deal this January.
Chelsea reportedly want to sign Pelle (left) and Xhaka (bottom right), while Luiz wants Costa at PSG |
But he may struggle to land Xhaka if Chelsea are serious about their target, with Hiddink reportedly keen to add at least one midfielder to his ranks before February's deadline.
Monchengladbach director Max Eberl recently conceded Xhaka could soon be leaving the club.
"There are always situations where every club has to think of each option," Eberl told German television station WDR.
"It [a possible sale of Xhaka] depends partly on our sporting success.
"It depends on the performances of Granit and of course on the price.
"As of today we are glad that he is with us and hope that he stays for a long time.
"There's no number [a price threshold] for me."
Costa to PSG
David Luiz wants to bring Diego Costa to Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports.
Luiz, 28, left the Blues for PSG back in 2014 in a £50m deal.
The centre-back is a former Brazil team-mate of Costa, who now plies his international trade with Spain.
And ESPN claim the defender has "urged" Costa, 27, to come to Paris if he decides to quit Chelsea this year.
"Diego is one of the most clinical strikers in Europe, he would be a welcome addition to any team," Luiz said.
"I think PSG have made their intent clear over the last three or four seasons, that we only add the best players.
"If Diego decides he has had enough of England and wants a new challenge, of course he would be welcome here."
