CHELSEA have made a £45million bid for John Stones, according to reports.
News News Blog Sport revealed last year the Blues made three attempts to sign the highly-rated Everton defender.
Their final bid of £37million was point-blank refused by Roberto Martinez, despite Stones filing a formal transfer request.
However, the Premier League holders are reportedly in for the 21-year-old again and according to Spanish outlet Fichajes have made a £45m bid.
The offer flies in the face of Martinez's defiant comments that Everton will not be selling their star players in January.
"It doesn't matter if a club comes in. We created a squad during the summer to see how far we could go over the season," he said.
"We'll never lose anyone in January, unless it's somebody who hasn't been playing and we need to find a solution.
If he's a top performer, it's not even a consideration."
Stones has featured in 18 of Everton's 20 Premier League games this season showcasing why he is one of England's hottest prospects.
