LIVERPOOL are plotting a £25million bid for Leicester striker Jamie Vardy, according to reports.

Chelsea rocked as Liverpool eye £25m bid for international striker
Jamie Vardy has been attracting interest from a host of top Premier League clubs

The 29-year-old England international striker has been linked with move to Chelsea, but Liverpool are now said to be leading the race to sign him.
Chelsea were said to be planning to land Vardy after interim Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink identified the former Fleetwood striker as a top transfer target.

However, the Daily Star claim the Reds are now in pole position and are willing to go all out to secure his services by lodging a £25million bid for him in the summer.
Vardy has been in scintillating form for Leicester this season, helping them mount a surprise Premier League title push as well as setting a new record of scoring in 11 consecutive games earlier this season.

Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri is understandably determined to keep hold of Vardy and in order to do so they will reportedly offer him a new deal worth double his current £45,000-a-week contract.
But a £25million fee for a player approaching his thirties could be too difficult for the Foxes to turn down.

Vardy has made scored 15 goals in 22 appearances for Ranieri's side and is currently joint-top scorer in the league alongside Everton's Romelu Lukaku.
