CHELSEA are still considering a January move for Valencia defender Aymen Abdennour, according to reports.

The Blues are close to securing the signing of American defender Matt Miazga but a deal for Abdennour is not off the table.
Abdennour joined Valencia from Monaco for £22million in the summer but has struggled in La Liga.
And, according to the Times, Chelsea could move for him in the remaining days of the transfer window.

Yesterday it emerged Gary Cahill was considering leaving Stamford Bridge having lost his place under Guus Hiddink.
Cahill is worried about his England place and has been linked with a move to Roma today.
Chelsea do not want to sell Cahill but could be tempted to move him on if a big offer comes in and Valencia are receptive to a bid for Abdennour.
The 26-year-old Tunisia defender signed a five-year deal in the summer after Valencia sold Nicolas Otamendi to Manchester City.

Aymen Abdennour is still wanted by Chelsea

Chelsea have used John Terry and Kurt Zouma as their first choice defensive pair in recent weeks.
But Terry is 35 and out of contract in the summer.
The Blues tried to sign John Stones in the summer but were knocked back despite offering £37million.
Stones is set to attract offers from Manchester United, Manchester City, Barcelona and Real Madrid in the summer - and with Chelsea set to miss out on Champions League football they are assessing alternative options.
Chelsea are also close to completing the signing of Alexandre Pato, although negotiations over a fee have not yet been concluded.
