CHELSEA will not let Pep Guardiola join Manchester City without putting up a fight, according to reports.
Chelsea are keen to bring Pep Guardiola to Stamford Bridge |
The Spaniard will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season with his next adventure set to be in the Premier League.
Express Sport understands City are favourites to land the former Barcelona boss that could see Guardiola bring Lionel Messi with him.
But according to the Daily Star, Chelsea are intent on bringing the 43-year-old to Stamford Bridge.
Russian owner Roman Abramovich is encouraged by Guardiola showing interest in the Blues and believes he can still persuade him to snub City in favour of them.
A source close to Guardiola told the Daily Star: "City think they have got him, but Chelsea are still very much in the running."
The report claims Guardiola is likely to want a three-year-deal ahead of his arrival in England.
Arsenal and Manchester United have also reportedly shown interest in his impending move.
“I have an opportunity to work in England - I’m at the right age and I feel it is the right move for me,” Guardiola said.
