NACHO MONREAL has signed a new long-term deal at Arsenal because he's 'important' to the club, Arsene Wenger has confirmed.
The Spain international has been in fine form for the Gunners this term, featuring in all 22 Premier League games.
He put pen to paper on a new long-term deal today and Wenger has revealed it's because of his importance to the first-team squad and younger players at the club.
“He is a very important player at the club because he can play left-back and centre back," he said.
"He has the consistency in his performances that is requested at the top level.
“Overall, his attitude has been absolutely fantastic on a daily basis since he arrived here.
He’s 100 per cent committed and I think as well he has always improved since he has arrived and has shown that in many big games as well.
