NEWS NEWS BLOG SPORT brings you the latest news form the Emirates.
Arsene Wenger has confirmed Arsenal are hoping to bring Nigerian starlets Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze to the Emirates.
Nwakali and Chukwueze impressed in helping Nigeria win last year's FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile and Wenger believes the Gunner have won the race to sign the duo.
Wenger said: “They are progressing well. I expect them to be done this month.
“There are, of course, work permit issues, medical issues, but it is progressing well. We identified Nwakali after he won player of the tournament, he is a top player. We will see if we can manage to get it over the line.”
Wenger has also confirmed defender Mathieu Debuchy could leave the Emirates on loan this month.
Debuchy has found regular first-team football hard to come by this season and Wenger admitted the Frenchman could be on the move.
"Yes Debuchy might go somewhere," he said
"But I don't know where at the moment. Of course that decision has to be made quickly as there is only 48 hours to go."
Arsenal have had a second bid for Leicester defender Ben Chilwell rejected, according to reports.
Football Insider claim the Gunner bid was worth £4million, including performance related add-on for the defender.
But Leicester have rejected the bis as they are reluctant to let the youngster leave.
The highly-rated 19-year-old is reportedly in line for a new contract at the King Power Stadium, with his £800-a-week wages set to increase to £8,000-a-week.
