According to the Daily Mirror, Stoke are hoping to beat Arsenal to the signing of wantaway Porto midfielder Giannelli Imbula.
The Frenchman has struggled for game time in Portugal since joining from Marseille in the summer, starting just eight Primeira Liga matches this term.
And now Stoke are reportedly willing to break their transfer record to sign the 23-year-old after tabling a £19m bid for his services.
 
Meanwhile, the Gunners have been handed a huge boost in their pursuit of Real Madrid playmaker Isco, who has a reported price-tag of £25m.
Spanish publication El Confidential claim Real president Florentino Perez is willing to listen to offers for the 23-year-old this month.
Isco, who is also a target for Premier League rivals Manchester City, has scored just once in 11 La Liga starts this campaign.

And finally, Football Insider claim Gunners midfielder Jack Wilshere is in line for a new five-year deal worth £110,000-a-week.
The 24-year-old, who is yet to feature this season after breaking his leg in pre-season, would earn nearly £31.5m by the summer of 2021.
The England international - currently earning a reported £90,000-a-week - is highly thought of by manager Arsene Wenger and is expected to return to action next month.
