Nolito has not agreed a deal to join Barcelona, says Celta Vigo boss Eduardo Berizzo |
The 29-year-old forward had reportedly agreed a loan switch to the Nou Camp yesterday, according to Spanish newspaper Sport.
It was claimed Barca had agreed to match his £13million buy-out clause but would delay the full payment by loaning the attacker in order to help balance their books.
But according to Celta manager Berizzo this is not the case, and he has not been informed of any move for his prized player.
"I've received no news from my club confirming that Nolito is on his way out," he told Spanish newspaper Marca.
"This is nothing new and it isn't the first time that I've answered questions on this matter.
"If a deal finally goes through, as I've already said previously, we'll have to replace him."
The comments will come as a boost to Arsenal who have also been linked with the Spain international and reportedly held talks with Celta Vigo.
Nolito has made 15 La Liga appearances this term and has an impressive eight goals and five assists to his name.
