NEWCASTLE have had a bid rejected for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.

That is according to French newspaper L'Equipe, who claim the Ligue 1 club have knocked back the Magpies opening offer of £18million.
The France international has scored eight goals in all competitions this term, following on from his 31 goals last season.
 
While Newcastle have struggled in front of goal, having found the back of the net just 19 times in 20 Premier League outings this season
But it is thought that Lyon are holding out for at least £25m if they are to sell their star striker in January.

The 24-year-old has also been linked with Premier League heavyweights Arsenal and Chelsea, who are more than capable of meeting his valuation.
Arsene Wenger is keen to add competition for Olivier Giroud up front, while Guus Hiddink is reportedly looking to replace sought after striker Loic Remy.
