ALEX TEIXEIRA believes he would add an “attacking threat” to Liverpool as he spoke of his frustration at Shakhtar Donetsk’s reluctance to strike a deal with the Anfield club.

In an exclusive interview with Anfeld HQ, the Brazilian forward confirmed he wanted to move to Merseyside in the January transfer window.
Liverpool have had a £24.5m bid rejected by the Ukraine club with Shakhtar sticking to their 50m euros valuation which equates to £38m.
There has been little progress on the transfer since Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre held face to face talks with Shakhtar officials in Florida last Wednesday.
Teixeira confirmed Liverpool have not yet made a second bid due to the gulf in valuations.
“The team received one official offer from Liverpool,” said Teixeira. “It was rejected. I don’t know why. It was a great offer. It is frustrating but the manager and club president decided against it so now I am just waiting. Trying to be patient.

“It (Liverpool) is a huge club so many great players have passed through there. It would be an honour to defend the Liverpool shirt.
“There has only been one offer of 32m euros and Shakhtar rejected it. I know my agent is still attempting everything possible to help me get to Liverpool.
“I want to be there but that is up to the club president. Now I can only hope. I don’t know what else to say.”
Liverpool could revisit the deal in the summer unless the impasse can be breached, but Teixeira believes he would fit perfectly into Klopp’s team.

He is friends with Philippe Coutinho and Lucas, who also have Kia Joorabchian as their agent.
“The way I play is always looking to score. I could definitely add an attacking threat,” he added.
“For me it (the Premier League) is the best league in the world. I believe in myself and I feel that it would be the best move for my career
“I've played with Coutinho since we were 10 years old. It would be a lot of fun to play with him again.”
