LOUIS VAN GAAL insists he knows nothing about Swansea's reported interest in hiring Ryan Giggs as their new manager.
Giggs has been Van Gaal's assistant at United ever since the Dutchman took over as manager in 2014.
The former Wales international is considered a candidate to replace Van Gaal at the Old Trafford helm in 2017 when the manager's contract expires.
Responding to Swansea's interest, Van Gaal said: "First, I have to speak with Ryan Giggs by himself when it is true. I think he is coming to me."
Former Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers, who was sacked by Liverpool in October, has declined the chance to return to the Liberty Stadium.
Rangers boss Mark Warburton and Ajax assistant Dennis Bergkamp are considered candidates for the role.
But Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins will struggle to appoint David Moyes, who is without a club after being sacked by Sociedad.
“I’m not interested in the [Swansea] job, I let that be known earlier in the week that it wasn’t for me,” Moyes told talkSPORT.
“When I was in Spain I was getting offered numerous jobs to come back to England and since I’ve lost my job I’ve had several offers to come back here as well as offers to go back abroad.
“I want to spend Christmas at home with the family if I can, but if the right job comes up that really excites me I’m ready to go.
"I don’t need a rest or a break, but I want to make sure the job is the right one.”
