Trevor Sinclair backtracks after making Louis van Gaal sacked claims
Louis van Gaal has been sacked by Manchester United according to Trevor Sinclair

TREVOR SINCLAIR has backtracked after claiming Jose Mourinho had replaced Louis van Gaal at Manchester United.

The BBC pundit and former Manchester City winger claimed Ed Woodward had sacked Van Gaal and that 'Mourinho was in at the swamp'.
However he has since tweeted that his phone was taken at a Christmas dinner and distanced himself from the claims.
Sinclair's initial tweet had come after a rush of posts suggested Van Gaal had been sacked by Manchester United.

Ed Woordward, United's chief executive, was in London today for a crunch meeting over Van Gaal's future.
Express Sport understands Mourinho is waiting in the wings if the move to bin Van Gaal is made.
However it is more likely that Ryan Giggs will take over in the short term if Van Gaal is sacked before the Stoke game.

Van Gaal has overseen six games without a win at United and saw them knocked out of the Champions League after the group stage.
This morning United refused to deny reports that Mourinho had agreed a five-year deal to take over at United.
And Sinclair had tweeted that Van Gaal has been sacked and Mourinho is poised to take over.
He said: "LVG is to be sacked...... Think Ed Woodward is a City fan.
"LVG has gone.
"Jose's in at the swamp."
United face Stoke on Boxing Day before taking Mourinho's former club Chelsea on December 28.

Since then however Sinclair said: "School boy error. Left my phone on the table at a Christmas party. Sincere apologies for my last 2 tweets."
