Arsenal reportedly want to lock Mesut Ozil down to a new contract |
Chelsea have verbally agreed to sign £30million midfielder Alex Teixeira from Shakhtar Donetsk.
Teixeira, 25, has scored a staggering 22 goals in 15 games this season.
The Daily Star claim talks to secure Teixeira's signature began before Jose Mourinho was sacked as manager.
New boss Guss Hiddink is expected to have the uncapped Brazilian in his squad come January.
Arsenal will move to defy Bayern Munich's interest in star midfielder Mesut Ozil by offering the 27-year-old a new contract.
Ozil's current £140,000-a-week deal end in 2018.
But the Gunners are keen to lock him down for longer and will offer him a sharp pay rise as an incentive, the Daily Mail claim.
"I can only say that I am very happy in London and that my decision to come here from Real Madrid was the right one," said Ozil.
"There is not a single day, apart from when I was injured, that I have not felt great at Arsenal."
Ozil is Arsenal's top earner, with Alexis Sanchez picking up £130,000 a week.
Manchester United are ready to hijack Liverpool and Arsenal's interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Lucas Moura, claim The Telegraph.
Moura, 23, has lost his place in the PSG team to Angel Di Maria, who was sold by United in the summer.
It is claimed United are willing to pay around £22m for the ace, who has reportedly been told he can league the Ligue 1 champions.
Liverpool's interest in Moura appears to have arisen from manager Jurgen Klopp's keenness to sign new recruits in January.
Klopp is said to be seeking midfield enforcements, while he may also look to sign a defender amid a growing injury crisis among the Liverpool backline.
Joe Gomez has already been ruled out for the season with injury, while Martin Skrtel will be out for six weeks with a knee problem.
Dejan Lovren is expected to be back for Liverpool's Boxing Day clash with Leicester.
