MAURICIO POCHETTINO believes Tottenham are genuine Premier League title contenders.
The Spurs boss has been reluctant to talk up his side's chances this season.
But Pochettino bucked the trend by claiming his young side can win the league.
Spurs are nine points behind surprise packages Leicester but Pochettino insists they can make up the ground.
Tottenham face Norwich on Boxing Day and the Argentine said: "In football all is possible. The most important thing is belief you can win every game.
"We are very young, we have a strong squad and we believe in ourselves.
"We must keep working hard try to win every game in a tough league, the most difficult in world, so it’s always important to be focused in every game.
"In football everything can happen if you believe. We have a very strong squad and mentality."
Pochettino says his side have not earned the credit they deserve this season.
Spurs have unearthed Dele Alli while the likes of Eric Dier and Alderweireld have shone.
He added: "People don’t realise the effort we made and how our players work hard because we are the youngest squad in Premier League.
"Sometimes they deserve more prizes for the position they have.
"Maybe the team deserve more prizes than we have so far."
Tottenham's bid has for the top has not been helped by a knee injury to £12m striker Clinton NJie.
The Cameroon frontman, who is seen as back up to Harry Kane, faces three months out after surgery last week.
But it could now force Pochettino to buy in January.
