Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is expected to make his Man Utd debut against Bournemouth |
CAMERON BORTHWICK-JACKSON is in line to make his full Manchester United debut against Bournemouth later today (5.30pm) due to the club's growing injury problems, according to reports.
The Daily Mail claim the 18-year-old, who impressed after coming off the bench against West Brom and Wolfsburg, will line up with Daley Blind and Paddy McNair in United's defence.
Louis van Gaal told the England Under 19 defender to prepare as if he is going to start against Eddie Howe's side.
The United boss has turned to youth following injuries to defenders Chris Smalling, Marcos Rojo, Matteo Darmian and Phil Jones.
United are also without long-term absentees Luke Shaw and Antonio Valencia, leaving Van Gaal short of defensive options.
Borthwick-Jackson, who joined United's academy side at the age of six, is capable of playing across the backline but he is primarily a left-sided centre back.
