CHARLIE AUSTIN is hoping his form for QPR can attract the 'right opportunity' going into the transfer window.
The 26-year-old, who scored 18 goals last term, was heavily linked with a return to the Premier League in the summer following QPR's drop to the Championship.
Newcastle, Sunderland and Southampton have all been credited with an interest in the striker, but baulked at QPR's £15m price-tag considering he only had a year left on his contract.
Austin is hoping to earn a move away from Loftus Road in January, but will continue to give his all for QPR should he need to wait until the summer to leave.
“I’m just trying to get a run of games leading up to the transfer window and trying to score as many goals as I can," he told talkSPORT.
"Who knows what will happen in the future. I have got six months left [on my contract].
"And if the right opportunity doesn’t come for me in January then I will stay with QPR and aim to get them promoted and leave with my head held high.”
