MANUEL PELLEGRINI appears to have no problem with Wilfried Bony’s complaint that he should have started ahead of Sergio Aguero in Manchester City’s defeat at Arsenal.
Bony claimed fellow striker Aguero - just back from a four-game lay-off with a heel injury - was not fit enough for Monday's title showdown.
The Argentina striker was ineffective and taken off after an hour with Bony sent on – with City looking more dangerous in the last half an hour.
Pellegrini insisted however that Aguero was fit to play.
“Sergio was ready to play," he said. "He needs minutes. He will not play maybe the 90 minutes for three or four games. He must train hard but he was ready to play.
“I think every player that doesn’t play is always disappointed but I’m sure Bony and all the players respect my decision.”
Asked if Bony had spoken to him he replied: “I talk always with all the players about different situations.”
Bony could start against Sunderland on Boxing Day with Aguero on the bench.
