| Thomas Muller is set to remain at Bayern |
THOMAS MULLER has reportedly dealt a significant blow to Manchester United's transfer plans by signing a new deal with Bayern Munich.
The German World Cup winner was a major target for United in the summer as Louis van Gaal desperately looked to sign a marquee player.
But German broadcaster SPORT1 claim Muller has put pen to paper on a deal to remain in Munich until 2021.
"Thomas Muller embodies everything which distinguishes FC Bayern Munich," Sammer said.
"He is an absolute role model, an absolute gem and he's irreplaceable."
