RAY WILKINS believes Manchester United made a huge mistake selling Javier Hernandez to Bayer Leverkusen in the summer.
Hernandez left Old Trafford after five years for just £7million, and he has been in sensational form since his move to Germany.
The 27-year-old has scored 21 goals in 29 appearances for club and country this season, with 16 of those coming in his last 13 matches.
His stunning form has seen him linked with a move back to the Premier League, with Arsenal reportedly interested in the striker.
In his absence at United, Louis van Gaal’s team have struggled in front of goal this term, with Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial United's only recognised strikers.
And Wilkins insists Van Gaal was wrong to let the Mexican leave Old Trafford.
“I don’t quite understand how this guy’s playing outside this country,” he told talkSPORT.
“He was a snip at £8m-£10m, 27 years of age, should not have been allowed to leave because he’s too talented.”
