MANCHESTER UNITED and Chelsea have both lost their 'fear factor', claims Rio Ferdinand.
The two Premier League heavyweights are enduring a tough season, with the Blues sacking Jose Mourinho and Louis van Gaal on the brink.
Things are slightly worse off for the west London side who are just two points above the relegation zone, although United have also begun to slide.
The Red Devils have now lost four on the bounce and News News Blog Sport understands that the Dutchman will be given his marching orders if he loses to Chelsea this afternoon (5.30pm).
And Ferdinand has called the clash 'crazy', claiming both teams have lost the 'fear factor' that would so often have given them the edge in previous seasons.
"This is a huge game for both sides! I can't remember when the last time these two met with neither side having a real chance of winning the league," he told BreatheSport.
"Chelsea are sitting in 15th and Manchester United in 6th! That's crazy.
"Nor can I remember when both clubs were in such a bad state, looking like they have lost their fear factor - a fear factor was just standard.
"Just look at the last couple of weeks, both teams losing at home and away to Bournemouth respectively.
"That's no disrespect to Eddie Howe and his side, but teams of that stature should be picking up three points against a newly promoted side."
