Manchester United line up move for Jose Mourinho as pressure mounts on Louis van Gaal
Jose Mourinho is the bookies favourite to become the next Manchester United manager

JOSE MOURINHO is lining up Manchester United as his next managerial job, according to reports.

The 52-year-old was sacked as manager of Chelsea on Thursday after guiding the Blues to an uncharacteristic 16th place in the Premier League table - just one point above the relegation zone.
However, his shock departure could open the door to a job many feel he has longed for, especially given the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Louis van Gaal's role at Old Trafford.

It is understood Mourinho, who has been , has received many job offers for the start of next season - but his representatives have also reached out to the Red Devils about the top job, claim the Independent.
Following the sacking of Mourinho, Van Gaal admitted as he doesn't want to end his managerial career, spanning three decades, on a sour note.

But United themselves have been on a poor run of form recently, which has been typified by the club being knocked out of the Champions league group stage after suffering a 3-2 defeat to Wolfsburg.
This led to former players and fans criticising the Dutchman for his 'boring' style of football.
Mourinho is the bookies favourite to replace Van Gaal at evens, while Van Gaal is 5/4 to be sacked.
