MANCHESTER UNITED boss Louis van Gaal is facing a revolt at Old Trafford after being openly questioned by his players, according to reports.

 

United are in the midst of a poor run of form which has seen them get knocked out of the Champions League and drop to fourth in the Premier League, six points behind leaders Leicester City.

An according to The Sun, senior players in the United dressing room have spoken out against Van Gaal over his tactics.

 

It is said "two senior players spoke up in the dressing room" following their 1-1 draw at Leicester on November 28.

While another player reportedly questioned Van Gaal's approach after the goalless draw with West Ham on December 5.

 

It is claimed the situation is close to “breaking point” at United.

This follows previous suggestions of players being unhappy with their boring and repetitive training sessions.

Van Gaal admitted earlier in the season that captain Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick spoke to him privately about a number of issues at the club.

He said: “Rooney and Carrick came to me and said the dressing room is flat – they told me to help me.

“I communicate not only with my captains, they try to warn me. I then go to my dressing room and discuss with my players and we discussed a lot of aspects – but not what some have written.

“I can say only that I have a very good relationship with my players, but it is logical now that only nine are left from the initial group. The others I have bought wlll not say I am a lousy manager.”
