Real Madrid are plotting a £40million bid for David de Gea, according to reports.
De Gea saw a last-minute switch to the Bernabeu collapse on deadline day in the previous window.
And according to the Daily Star, Real will try their luck again for the Spanish shot-stopper next summer.
A source said: “Real Madrid will not attempt to sign David De Gea in the January window.
“But the club is proposed to sign him in the summer for next season.”
Louis van Gaal has revealed Wayne Rooney respected his decision to drop him from the starting line-up.
Rooney was omitted from Van Gaal’s starting XI for their 2-0 defeat away to Stoke on Boxing Day.
And Van Gaal claims Rooney didn’t kick up a fuss about the matter.
“Like a very good professional," Van Gaal said.
"And I think that also is Wayne, that I have already told a lot of press conferences that he has a big contribution not only on the pitch but also off the pitch.”
Jose Mourinho would be interested in managing England, according to reports.
Mourinho is widely fancied to replace Van Gaal if he gets sacked by Manchester United.
Mourinho hasn’t long been out out of work after getting fired by Chelsea, but the Sunday People claim the Portuguese tactician has told his friend and agent Jorge Mendes he would be open to replacing Roy Hodgson if he stands down after Euro 2016.
