MANCHESTER UNITED have no interest in Jose Mourinho, claims football pundit Andy Gray.
Louis van Gaal's side have gone eight games without a win with speculation rife over his future at Old Trafford.
And following Jose Mourinho's exit from Chelsea earlier this month, the Portuguese boss has been heavily tipped to take over from Van Gaal, should the Dutchman be sacked.
Scarves with Mourinho's face printed alongside the United badge could be seen at Old Trafford in United's 0-0 draw with Chelsea yesterday with some fans clearly voicing their opinions on giving Van Gaal the boot.
But Gray believes the board at United are reluctant to depart with Van Gaal and a move for Mourinho looks unlikely.
“I don't get the impression coming from the inner sanctum at Old Trafford that they are looking to get rid of Louis van Gaal unless they really, really have to do because of pressure from the fans," Gray told talkSPORT.
“And I get the impression they don't want Mourinho.
"Jose Mourinho has been available for two weeks and, after that awful performance at the Britannia, if they really wanted Jose Mourinho that was the perfect opportunity for Manchester United to go ahead and get him.
“I think Mourinho and United is just something that might not happen.
"I don't think United are in a hurry to do anything at all. If they really wanted Mourinho, they would have jumped by now."
