Paddy McNair has been linked with a number of Championship clubs over a proposed loan move in January.
The 20-year-old made 16 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils last season but has started just once in the league this term.
And according to the Belfast Telegraph, the Northern Irishman could seek a move away from Old Trafford in January to boost his chances of making Michael O'Neill's Euro 2016 squad.
Championship outfits Blackburn, Burnley and Wolves are all said to be monitoring his situation.
 
Louis van Gaal has been dealt a fresh injury blow with Marcos Rojo set to be sidelined for several weeks.
The Argentine dislocated his shoulder in training and has been sent for a scan to determine the extent of the injury.
Rojo has been playing in place of Luke Shaw, who suffered a double-leg break playing in the Champions League against PSV Eindhoven.
While the Dutch boss has further injury concerns in defence with Phil Jones and Antonio Valencia both out of action.

Carlo Ancelotti has been sounded out as a potential replacement for Louis van Gaal
United have reportedly sounded out both Carlo Ancelotti and Massimiliano Allegri as potential replacements for Louis van Gaal.
The Dutchman has 18 months left on his contract and is expected to retire when it runs out.
Reports in Italy suggest the club are keen to bring former Real Madrid boss Ancelotti or current Juventus manager Allegri to Manchester.
Allegri is currently under contract with the Italian side until 2017, while Ancelotti has taken a sabbatical since he was axed from the Bernabeu in the summer.
