JOSE MOURINHO is 'in at the swamp' after Manchester United sacked Louis van Gaal, according to former Manchester City winger Trevor Sinclair.
Sinclair's claims come after a rush of tweets suggested Van Gaal had been sacked by Manchester United.
Ed Woordward, United's chief executive, was in London today for a crunch meeting over Van Gaal's future.
Express Sport understands Mourinho is waiting in the wings if the move to bin Van Gaal is made.
Van Gaal has overseen six games without a win at United and saw them knocked out of the Champions League after the group stage.
This morning United refused to deny reports that Mourinho had agreed a five-year deal to take over at United.
