Wayne Rooney needs help up front according to Steven Gerrard

Louis van Gaal's current strike force failed to score in the Premier League for the seventh time this season as they drew 0-0 with Chelsea, and both Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial spurned excellent chances.
And Gerrard claims that another body up front would help spread the load as United desperately try to get their title challenge back on track.
“I think they need an extra striker. There’s too much pressure on Wayne Rooney, Martial’s very young, Depay’s very young,” Gerrard told BT Sport.

“They need an experienced striker to come and help Wayne Rooney with that pressure, with that goal burden.”
Van Gaal's side dominated possession against Chelsea, and produced a much more attacking performance than they often have at Old Trafford this season.
And Thibaut Courtois was forced into a number of saves, but the home side still lacked a cutting edge up front.

But Gerrard, now contracted to LA Galaxy in the USA, believes that on another night they might have beaten Guus Hiddink's Chelsea side.
“I think they need performances like today,” Gerrard added.
“Against the majority of teams in the league, if they perform like that, they’ll go on a run of winning games.”
