DANIEL STURRIDGE could be fit in time for Liverpool's busy Christmas period as his injury is not quite as bad as first feared, according to reports.
Sturridge suffered a hamstring problem after coming off the bench during the 2-0 defeat at Newcastle on Sunday.
News News Blog Sport broke the news that the England striker was sent for scans on the problem yesterday and Liverpool expected him to be out for ‘weeks’ given his injury history.
And Sky Sports claim he will only miss tomorrow night's Europa League tie against FC Sion and the Premier League fixtures against West Brom and Watford.
That means he could be back for the Boxing Day clash with league leaders Leicester at Anfield.
Sturridge missed the start of the season after having surgery on his hip, and has barely featured since Jurgen Klopp's arrival at Anfield with foot and knee problems.
He returned to action against Swansea on November 29 and scored twice in the 6-1 Capital One Cup win at Southampton last week before dropping down to the bench for the clash with the Magpies.
Sturridge posted an message to Instagram followers after his latest fitness blow.
He wrote: "I'll never lose faith in God or belief in myself. Always light at the end of the tunnel. Have a good day people. I'll be back before you know it…"
