Kevin Grosskreutz could be on his way to the Premier League in January |
GALATASARAY will make a decision on the future of Liverpool target Kevin Grosskreutz this week, according to reports in Turkey.
It has been claimed that the 27-year-old has already agreed a three-year-deal and personal terms with Liverpool ahead of a proposed January move that would reunite him with Jurgen Klopp.
And it seems as if a move to Anfield could be edging closer as Turkish website TR Futbol report the German international's agent will meet with Galatasaray officials to discuss his future this week.
Grosskreutz played under the guidance of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp for six seasons in Germany |
Grosskreutz signed for Galatasaray last summer but was not registered on their books in time after failing to send over the necessary paperwork to FIFA before the transfer deadline.
Because of this, Grosskreutz has failed to make an appearance for the club and has recently been training with sixth-tier German regional side Westfalia Wickede in order to maintain his fitness after deciding to return home because he felt unsettled in Turkey.
Klopp is keen on getting to know his current crop of players better since replacing Brendan Rodgers at Anfield in October, but admitted that under the right circumstances a winter transfer could be a possibility.
Grosskreutz played under new Anfield boss Klopp at Dortmund for six seasons and has five Germany caps.
It has also been claimed Galatasaray would be happy to part ways with the World Cup winner for just £1.8million with Scottish champions Celtic also showing an interest.
