Arsenal prepare summer move for PSG forward Lucas Moura |
ARSENAL are ready to step up their interest in Paris Saint-Germain winger Lucas Moura, according to reports.
Premier League rivals Manchester United have also been linked with a move for the Brazil international.
Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal has made no secret of his desire to sign a pacey winger in January, with Moura believed to be high up on his shortlist.
But according to Spanish website Fichajes, the Gunners are hoping to beat United to the 22-year-old with a £21.8million bid next summer after he all but ruled out a move away in the New Year.
"I am pleased with the interest of big clubs in me - if it is true it shows that they are watching me and happy with my football," he told Brazilian TV channel SporTV.
"But my head is focused on PSG, I never thought of leaving here and I want to achieve my goals here."
Lucas Moura insists he remains happy at PSG for the time being |
"In football, you don't even know about tomorrow.
"The Premier League is the strongest league and if tomorrow or later an opportunity comes and I'm not happy here, of course I'll have a think about it.
Moura has scored six goals this season, but has struggled to cement a regular starting spot at PSG as he's competing with the likes of Angel Di Maria, Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi on the flanks.
