Riyad Mahrez expects Premier League strikers to catch up in scoring charts |
LEICESTER winger Riyad Mahrez expects Olivier Giroud, Wayne Rooney and Harry Kane to catch him up in the goalscoring table.
Mahrez has scored 13 league goals for the Foxes this term, while Arsenal's Giroud (9), Manchester United's Rooney (2) and Tottenham's Kane (9) lag behind the 24-year-old.
But Mahrez is convinced the strikers will overtake him in the scoring charts as the season goes on.
On finding the back of the net more times than Giroud, Rooney and Kane this campaign, Mahrez admitted: "They are going to catch up with me.
"When you start scoring goals, you get hungry and you want to score more."

Mahrez, whose form has seen him linked with moves to Arsenal and United ahead of the January window, has been instrumental in guiding the Foxes to top of the Premier League.
But when asked if his side have any chance of claiming the title this season, the Algeria international added: "I don’t think so."
