JURGEN KLOPP has confirmed Dejan Lovren could return to Liverpool's first team in time for their Boxing Day clash with Leicester.
Lovren missed Liverpool's 3-0 defeat at Watford last weekend but has trained with the Reds squad over the past week.
His return is timely after Martin Skrtel was ruled out for around six weeks with a knee injury.
"Dejan Lovren is back in training and trained the last two days in a row so he is available," Klopp said.
"Martin Skrtel is not too good. It's a hamstring, he needs time but we don't know how long."
Liverpool host in-form Leicester knowing a win could lift them above West Ham and into seventh place in the Premier League.
They are five points off fourth-place Tottenham and 14 away from league leaders Leicester.
Klopp also confirmed James Milner and Jordan Rossiter will miss the 3pm kick off with the Foxes, although there is hope of a return for goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.
"Mignolet is training but Milner has no chance," the boss said.
"We have to wait one or two weeks."
