Jose Mourinho reveals why Chelsea can still finish in the top four
Mourinho believes Chelsea can still secure automatic qualification for the Champions League
JOSE MOURINHO believes that the stumbling results of his Premier League rivals has opened the door for Chelsea to recover from their poor start and still finish in the Champions League positions.

are 14th going into Monday night’s trip to Leicester, 14 points behind Manchester United in fourth place.
However, with the teams expected to contest for those top four places dropping points in unexpected places, the door has been left ajar for Chelsea to make a charge in the second half of the season.
“We are where we are because we are doing bad,” Mourinho said. “But we have basically the same potential as last season. So believe I we can finish in the top four still.

“Before we lost the last three points against Bournemouth I was absolutely convinced of the fourth position in the table. I was convinced of a great December for us.
“The last defeat was something I was miles away from believing we could lose this match.

“But the reality is some clubs are doing so well and some other clubs are not capable of doing what people are used to. It's not easy for the top clubs any more to win three, four, five or 10 matches in a row.
“Who knows? We could get a run of four or five consecutive victories and because none of the top clubs are doing that, maybe we can close the distance and dream of a great finish and to finish fourth. While it is mathematically possible we have to try.”
