JAMIE REDKNAPP believes Mesut Ozil can inspire Arsenal to their first title since 2004 after finally adapting to English football.
The German moved to the Emirates in 2013 from Real Madrid for a club record £42.5million, but struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League at first.
But this season Ozil has been in sensational form, scoring twice and grabbing 15 assists in just 16 league appearances.
And former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder Redknapp believes Ozil can help Arsene Wenger's side become champions in May.
"Put simply, Mesut Ozil looks like the man who can win Arsenal the title," Redknapp wrote in his Daily Mail column.
"The German is a joy to watch at the moment — very few teams have managed to contain him, but it’s not as if he’s got blistering pace or incredible strength.
"He has an ability to find space all over the field; he’s like a ghost.
"Previously, he was knocked off the ball too easily. He would rarely win those 50-50 balls, but now he’s knocking players off the ball!
"You can imagine opponents, having realised he is the danger man, deciding they’re going to mark him tightly — but that’s a lot easier said than done at the moment. He makes everything look so easy."
