GUUS HIDDINK has admitted he doesn't know which role Didier Drogba will take at Stamford Bridge – just so long as he is near.

Guus Hiddink: Why I want Didier Drogba at Chelsea
Guus Hiddink wants Didier Drogba to remain at Chelsea and offer his experience to the players

The Chelsea legend is currently playing for Montreal Impact but Chelsea’s interim manager mentioned that he would like to have his influence back within the club to help lift his struggling players.
Hiddink appears not even to have a specific role in mind, just so long as the Ivory Coast international’s enthusiasm can rub off directly on the players.

“Those rare kind of ex-players with this big status really would be very good for any club to have, especially him because he's a Chelsea legend,” Hiddink said. “But he has a contract with Montreal at the moment, and we have to respect that also.
“It depends on the player himself. You have to give them time and opportunities to find out what's best for them. It might be on the coaching staff, or ambassador... that's a bit more of an official function for me.

“These guys need to be in the squad helping younger players, all the players, with their huge experience.

“I'm not in favour of a big ambassador travelling the world in a tie. I think they must give their huge experience to all, especially young kids, but also the older ones when they are in trouble in their career.”
