EVERTON are remaining tightlipped about potential plans to sell the club for £200m.
Reports emerged yesterday that Toffees chairman Bill Kenwright has been in discussions with American technology magnates John Jay Moores and Charles Noell about a possible deal.
The two businessmen have been given access to Everton's books until the end of January to see if a takeover is an attractive proposition.
Everton have also reportedly signed a Head of Terms agreement with the duo which sets out what terms would be agreed to if a deal looked likely.
Although a Head of Terms is not legally binding, it is regarded as a sign that both parties are seriously considering the opportunity to sell the club, even if Everton refused to confirm or deny the reports yesterday.
Moores is a former owner of baseball side San Diego Padres and he and Noell have previously expressed an interest in taking control at Swansea City.
